Johnston, Virginia Marie (nee McGovern) joined her beloved parents, brothers and friends in Heaven on March 21st, 2018 at the age of 69. Ginny is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dorian Jennings "Butch" Johnston, son Dorian Joseph (DJ) Johnston (wife Marly), daughter Ann Marie Reynolds (husband Matt), cherished grandchildren, Madeline Celestia, Bernadette Ruth, Noah John, Dorian Robert, Adrianna Rose and Brendan Joseph. Pre-deceased by brothers Dennis Michael and John "Jack" Francis, survived by brother Joseph Dennis "Mickey" (wife Alice), also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ginny was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on October 13, 1948 and moved to Maple Shade, NJ in 1958. She graduated from Merchantville High School in 1966, and was married in 1966 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Maple Shade, and moved to Gibbsboro, NJ in 1980. Ginny worked co-op, half days in High School and was employed at Westfield State Insurance Agency in Pennsauken. After her boss retired, she purchased the agency and operated as sole proprietor for over 15 years. After closing the agency, she continued working for various agencies in South Jersey, most recently the Del Duke Group in Cherry Hill, NJ. Ginny always took pride in her work. For the last several years she did not need to continue working, but enjoyed being at the agency continuing to interact with the public. She always treated everyone with kindness and respect. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation with her family on Monday evening, March 26th, 7-9 pm at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main St., Maple Shade. Interment will be in NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Please no flowers due to cemetery restrictions. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Samaritan Hospice @samaritannj.org or the Salvation Army @salvationarmy.org.
