Rocco E. "Rocky" Mulvenna, aged 66, longtime Maple Shade resident, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024. Born in Philadelphia on May 17, 1957, to Edward and Carmella Mulvenna, Rocky's early years were filled with the love and camaraderie of a large and lively family and friends. He was a beloved brother to Michele Borghard and her husband Bill, Robert Mulvenna and his wife Gina, Jane Keenan and her husband Tom, Maggie Chester and her husband Mike, Eddie Mulvenna and his wife Luanne, Chrissy Zukauckas and her husband Don, Shawn Mulvenna and his wife Sheila, and John Mulvenna and his wife Theresa. The bond he shared with his siblings was unbreakable, and together they created countless cherished memories.
Rocky's own journey as a parent was marked by both love and loss. He was a devoted father to Rocco Mulvenna Jr., who predeceased him, and to Katie Brooks and her husband Sean. His role as a grandfather to Emma, Ethan, and Mason Rocco Mulvenna was one he embraced with all his heart, showering them with the same love and guidance he had provided to his own children.
He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union, where he formed lasting friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues. His passion for motorcycles led him to become an active member of the All Harley Drag Racing Association, where he not only indulged in his love for the sport but also contributed to the community he held dear. Rocky's interests extended beyond his work and hobbies. He was a man who loved playing the lottery, always hopeful for that big win, yet it was his selfless nature that truly defined him. Rocky was the kind of person who was always ready to lend a hand, whether it was fixing a neighbor's car or supporting a friend in need. His helpfulness was a testament to his loving and handy character. Rocky's love for his family extended to his cherished dog, Chili Willy, who was a faithful companion until the end. Their bond was a reflection of Rocky's capacity for love and companionship, which he extended to all he knew.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday, February 24th from 10 am to 12 pm at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 North Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. A memorial service will follow at 12 pm. All attending are encouraged to bring a scratch off lottery ticket in memory of Rocky to be donated for a charitable cause. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org)
