Robert S. Conti

Robert Salvatore Conti passed away on November 23, 2023, at the age of 87. He is the beloved husband of the late Beverly Knox; father of Kristine Conti and Robert Conti and his wife Vivian Conti; grandfather of Robert Conti and his partner Kailyn Vitullo, Danielle Conti and her partner Max Shrader and Natalie Conti and her partner Jonathon Pierce; great grandfather of Talon Pierce; cousin of Alice Theresa Appleman and Ronald DeLuca; beloved friend to Sandra Papi, her daughter Rebecca and her husband Ben Pitcher and their 4 children and her daughter Christina and her husband Justin Block and their 2 children. Robert was born in Brooklyn NY on November 14, 1936, to the late Joseph and Theresa (Teddy) Conti, the family later moved to Edison NJ. He was enlisted in the Navy from 1955-1959 and was stationed at the Philadelphia Navy Yard on the US Accokeet ATA-181. He married his late wife Beverly A Knox of Metuchen NJ in 1960. Together they had two children Robert Conti and Kristine Conti who were their pride and joy. Robert was a major part of his community in Edison NJ where he coached the Edison Falcons Football League throughout the 1970’s. Robert and Beverly along with the Kobolis Family helped to establish the Edison Angels Softball Organization. He was employed by Goodyear Tire in New Brunswick NJ for 25 years, then Presidential Container in East Rutherford NJ until his retirement. Anybody who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Robert knows that he loved to tell a story and could talk to you about anything for hours. He cared deeply about his family and friends and would always help you out in a time of need. Please join us on Saturday December 9, 2023, from 10am-12pm at the Mark C. Tilghman Funeral home located at 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade, NJ 08052, to celebrate the life of Robert Conti. Funeral service will follow at 12 pm. Please bring with you any stories and memories that you would like to tell.
