Nancy Rebert Gillies of Mt Laurel, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 86 years old.
Born Nancy Ann Rebert in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on July 14, 1937, she was adopted at a young age and raised by her parents Richard Rebert and Gladys Blocher Rebert. In high school, she met the love of her life, H. Clarke Gillies III “Ty”, whom she would later marry and spend 63 years with before his passing in November 2021. They had five children together.
Nancy received a business degree from Drexel University. Once married, she lived in Bucknell University housing while Ty completed his degree. Ty named his business NRG Associates after Nancy and together they worked side by side until retirement.
Nancy spent many months throughout the years at Marco Island, Florida with family, making memories that will be forever cherished. She had many hobbies including tennis and arts and crafts and loved her many German Shepherds through the years. Always fascinated with family lineage, you could often find Nancy pulling out old photos or discovering something new on her family tree. At many family events, she would delight the crowd by doing “the twist.” She was always up for singing and dancing with her husband or grandchildren.
Nancy is preceded in death, and finally reunited with, her beloved husband, Ty Gillies, and dear daughter, Kimberly Moore. She is survived by her loving children Clarke (Ana) Gillies IV, Jacqueline Murray, Jennifer (Christopher) Murray, and Gregg Gillies, and sons-in-law James K. Moore and Steven Murray. She is also survived by grandchildren Michael Karambelas, Katie (Jordan) Lamotta, Sean Murray, Sarah Murray, Shannon Murray, C.J. Murray, Conner Murray, McKenna Murray, Jessica Gillies, and Ty Gillies as well as great-children Jude Hill, Hattie Lamotta, and Alice Lamotta. She will be forever missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service and interment on October 21st at 11:30 A.M, Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Samaritan Hospice in her honor at samaritannj.org or by mail to Samaritan Gift Processing Center, PO Box 71425, Philadelphia, Pa. 19176-1425
