Luther C. LeConey III

Luther C. "Luke" LeConey III of Marlton passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 16, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born in Camden on March 23, 1943 to the late Luther, Jr. and Agnes LeConey, and resided in Marlton for the last 60 years. Luke retired from the federal government where he worked as a mechanical engineer at Frankford and Picatinny Arsenals. Upon retirement, Luke took a job at Home Depot working in Moorestown and Berlin to keep active, at which time he decided to build a deck in their backyard. Sue just wanted a small simple deck but Luke had other ideas. He proceeded to build a very large one, accommodating 24 people and even named it The Red Light Tavern to enhance Sue and Luke's love for entertaining and hosting parties. After completion Luke had shirts and hats made for all who visited. Luke also enjoyed fishing with his son and friends. He was a member and Past Worshipful Master (1979) of Trimble Lodge #17 F&AM in Camden.

Beloved husband of 62 years to Susan "Sue" LeConey (nee Anderson), loving father of Luther IV and Sherry Bush, cherished grandfather of Dustin LeConey, Brandon LeConey, Brooke Horn, Joey (Jaimie) Bush and the late Nicholas Bush, adoring great grandfather of Bryce, Arianna, Ava, Shane, Skylar and Charli, dear brother of Dorothy Townsend and the late John LeConey, brother-in-law of Barbara LeConey, the late Linda Mai, Shirley Lentz and Christine (Ron) Herrmann, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with his family on Friday April 25th, 10-11 AM at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. Luke's memorial service will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home.
