Kathleen’s earlier years found her working with the Franciscan Companions in Aston PA, as a teacher’s aide at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, and as the director of the Extended Day Program. But she found her real calling in life as a mother and grandmother; she quietly took care of every need and never missed a theatrical or sporting event. Kathleen was strong in her faith: a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and she had a lifelong connection to St. Francis loving the animals the birds and the trees. She enjoyed traveling around the world with her sisters and friends, including the Western Mediterranean and Ireland, and she was a fan of Penn State and Notre Dame. If her T.V. was on she’d probably be cheering for the Eagles and the Phillies. She enjoyed comedies (Grace and Frankie and old SNL sketches) and the sounds of Barbara Streisand, James Taylor and Carole King. For relaxation she’d head off to the Poconos and down to the shore. She was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and settled in Maple Shade.
The pretty St. Huberts girl (proud to be a Bambi and known as Deano on the softball field and basketball court) met a handsome North Catholic boy. Kathleen and the late Michael shared a 45-year marriage blessed by two children: Jennifer (Vincent Jr.) Voiro and Kurt (Maria) Boehm; and grandchildren, Dominic, Lucas and Roman Michael. She was the sister of Bart (Patricia) Deane, Ellie (Kevin) Mahon, Sean (Laura) Deane, and Sharon (Steven) Smith. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Kevin (Dara) Boehm, sister-in-law, Ann (Rob) Rotondaro, sister-in-law, Rosaline (the late William) Boehm and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Deane.
