Joseph D. Schaffner

Joseph D. Schaffner of Maple Shade passed away peacefully at home on Friday July 11, 2025. He was born in Philadelphia on October 20, 1950 to the late Joseph and Marie Schaffner. Joe resided in Cherry Hill before moving to Maple Shade 12 years ago. He retired from Merrill Lynch in Ft. Washington where he worked as IT Director. Joe was a devoted Catholic and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5714 and the St.Vincent de Paul Society at OLPH. He enjoyed reading, working with computers and was very mechanically inclined. Joe was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and sports fan.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Mary Anne Schaffner (nee Perkinson), loving father of Peter (Samantha) Pryor, Maria Scott, Patrick (Sara) Pryor, and Joseph (Makenna) Schaffner, dear brother of Linda (the late Ray) Blum, Stephen (Maureen) Schaffner, Michael (Roe) Schaffner, Mary (Deke) Martin, and Thomas (Becky) Schaffner, cherished grandfather of Colin, Shane, Finn, Molly, Nicholas, Natalie, David and Ryan, Joe will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Thursday July 17th, 10-11 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main Street, Maple Shade. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM following the visitation. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society and sent to the church at the above address. Arrangements by the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, Maple Shade.
