Joanne was the rock of her family: 6 kids, 17 grands and 15 great-grands all knew her warmth. She raised most of her family, but the truth was she loved every second of it. She loved unconditionally and the tougher your situation, the more you knew she’d be by your side. It was the simple things in life that brought a smile to her face especially yard sales and trips to Red White and Blue Thrift store. She was all about the holidays, hosting Christmas and Thanksgiving, gathering her clan back under her roof. And nobody ever showered more presents on their offspring. She was strong in her faith; active at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and when she couldn’t attend mass any longer, she watched it on television. She made a pilgrimage to Fatima Portugal: the hardest thing she’d ever done but also her proudest moment. Relaxing times found her at her many barbecues and listening to the sounds of George Strait. She was born in Philadelphia and lived in Maple Shade.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Hoffner, Michael Hoffner, Joanne Hoffner and triplets, James, Joseph, and John Hoffner; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lorraine (Bob) Westenberger, Charles Dickerson, Ruth Moffatt, Kim (Paul) Hauser, Flossie Knapp and Barabara Dickerson.
Come celebrate 79 great years Wednesday March 11, 10 a.m.-noon at Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home, 38 North Forklanding Road, Maple Shade where there will be a noon service. Interment Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
