James C. Jones

James Carl Jones (“Jim”), beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on April 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 81 years old.

Born on May 25, 1943, in Crisfield, Maryland, Jim lived a life rich in experience, joy, and devotion to the people he loved. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1969, including a tour in Vietnam, embodying a quiet strength and sense of duty that he carried with him throughout his life.

Jim had a passion for rhythm and speed. As a high school student at Princeton High, he played the drums in a band called “The Swinging Shepherds,” and he never lost his love for music. He also found joy in restoring classic muscle cars, and in his younger days, he could often be found drag racing at Atco Dragway.

Above all, Jim was a family man. Whether water skiing on the weekends, tapping out a beat in the garage, or simply enjoying the laughter of his grandchildren, his happiest moments were spent with those he loved most. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Jana; his three children, Nicole Barbaccio, Jaimie Jones, and JC (Erin) Jones; his treasured grandsons, Dean, Nicholas, James, and Owen; and his brother, George (Beverly) Reynolds.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jim’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), a cause close to his heart.

Jim will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering love, and the legacy of memories he leaves in the hearts of all who knew him.
