Arthur T. Szcykalski Jr, on April 17, 2025 age 57, of Maple Shade, NJ. Beloved partner for 30 years of Cheryl Roberts. Dear father of Thomas Szcykalski, Gracey Lasher and Kevin Roberts. Loving grandfather of Kaylee, Chase and Madison. Beloved son of Carole Szcykalski and the late Arthur T. Szcykalski, Sr. Cherished brother of Lisa (Mario) Paternoster. Dear cousin of Stanley Kisiel and Caroline Boland. Arthur was the owner of ATS Duct Systems of Maple Shade for 20 years.
Artie was a true Shader through and through. He attended its public schools graduating with the class of 1985, later delving deep into the history of the town through the Maple Shade Historical Society and played baseball for the CYO Giants, a crowning achievement of his youth by bringing home championships twice. Artie worked for many years as a sheet metal fabricator at JAMCO under his favourite boss Jerry where he practiced honing his skills and craftsmanship. Eventually this led him to form his own business, being his own boss at home where he excelled at making duct work for businesses and friends who often called him the “E.C., Eric Clapton of Sheet Metal”. Artie was an avid fisherman often going far where others did not dare. He had a love of his many dogs and cats over the years, classic cars and a music taste that spanned catalogs. He owned so many cool cars notebally the 79 280z Camaro he had when he met his partner Cheryl, his 65 Chevy Canary Yellow Step side truck and taking over his dad’s 76 Corvette Stingray. His favourite past time however was being a loving partner to Cheryl and an amazing father to Thomas, while also stepping up selflessly to be a father to Gracey and Kevin. With his children eager to learn by his side he taught them all he knew in baseball, fishing, music and cars while also instilling in them a great sense of purpose for work, family and friends. He’d find the time to take them to Phillies games, teach them his trade, take them all to Seaside Heights to play Pinball and go fishing while also attending their own milestones in life. And while he was teaching his kids life lessons, he told stories that will last a lifetime; of his loving parents Carole And the late Art Sr., his wonderful sister Lisa and his many cousins and friends. If we heard them once, we’d hear them all a hundred times.
Art truly loved what he did, being unapologetically who he was and who he surrounded himself with in life.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with his family on Saturday, April 26th, 11 AM -12 PM at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Road, Maple Shade. Please some dress in casual clothes, as if you were going to Seaside Heights with Artie. A memorial service will follow at 12 PM at the funeral home.
