AnnaMae Nebel

AnnaMae Nebel (nee Moshan), longtime Maple Shade resident passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, at the age of 96. Born in Camden on February 16, 1927, to the late Edward and Anna Moshan, AnnaMae lived a life marked by love, adventure, and a spirited dedication to her family and community.

AnnaMae was the beloved wife of the late Richard Nebel, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they navigated the waters of life, both literally and figuratively, as they enjoyed many years of boating and fishing at their home in Mystic Island. Her role as a loving mother was evident in her nurturing of her children, Diane (Mark) Smegal and Richard (Stella) Nebel. She instilled in them the values of family, hard work, and the importance of making every moment count.

Her warmth extended to her grandchildren, Alexis Lear and Richard W. Nebel, and she was a source of wisdom and joy in their lives. AnnaMae was also a doting great-grandmother to Sloane and Brady, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and generosity. Though she was preceded in death by her grandchildren Timothy and Samantha Nebel, her love for them remains a guiding light for the family.

AnnaMae's career at Strawbridge & Clothier began as a telephone operator, where her friendly voice and helpful demeanor were a comfort to many. She later transitioned to the cosmetics department, bringing beauty and confidence to countless customers. Her work ethic and commitment to service were hallmarks of her professional life.

Beyond her family and career, AnnaMae was an active member of several senior citizen groups in Pennsauken and Maple Shade. She believed in the power of community and the importance of staying engaged at every stage of life. Her adventurous spirit found expression in her interests, and she was an avid participant in the activities that brought her joy.

Funeral service will be held Friday, February 2, 2024, 11am at the MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 38 N. Forklanding Rd., Maple Shade, NJ. Entombment at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsauken. Relatives and Friends are invited to her viewing Friday 9:30-11 am at the Funeral Home.
