Annabella B. Verna, 90, passed away at her home on April 26, 2025, from natural causes. In her final days, she was surrounded by the care and support of her beloved nephew, Timothy Holmes, who devotedly tended to her during her time in hospice.
Annabella was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jennie Barber; her sisters Jean Huver, Constance B. Holmes, Annabel Barber; and her brother, Francis Barber. She is survived by her nephews Michael, Timothy, James, and Thomas Holmes; Francis Huver; and nieces Maryann Kennedy and Joanne Holmes. In addition, she leaves behind 14 great-nieces and nephews and 7 great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry her memory forward.
A respected executive legal secretary, Annabella spent many years serving the late federal court judge, Alfred Luongo, earning the admiration of those who worked with her. A lifelong resident of Maple Shade and member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maple Shade, N.J., Annabella remained deeply connected to her faith and community throughout her life.
Annabella’s presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will endure through the many lives she touched. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 8th, 11 AM Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 36 E. Main Street, Maple Shade. Arrangements by MARK C. TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, Maple Shade.
