Ada I. South

Ada I. South (nee Fowler) of New Egypt passed away peacefully on February 18, 2016. She was 91 years old. Born in Juliustown she was a lifetime area resident. Ada retired as Post Master of the Cookstown Post Office where she worked for many years. She was a longtime member of the Cookstown United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer for 40 years. She could always be found in the church kitchen preparing meals for the church suppers. Ada was a member of the American Legion of New Egypt Ladies Auxiliary and was instrumental in the building of the Juliustown Fire House. Spending time with her family and friends was of the utmost importance to Ada. Beloved wife of the late Raymond "Barney" South, loving mother of Shirley (Edward,Jr) Gancarz, dear grandmother of Jason Gancarz and Heather (Louis, Jr) Millington, sister of Ruth (Thomas) Stiger and Norman (Virginia) Fowler, dear friend for 65 years Dottie Reynolds, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visitation with her family Tuesday, February 23rd 9-11 am at the Cookstown United Methodist Church, 15 Main St, Cookstown. Funeral service will be follow at 11 am. Interment will be in NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Arrangements by the MARK C.
