Carmel A. Donofrio

On August 18, 2015 Carmel Donofrio passed into the care of the Lord. Carmel was the devoted and loving wife of Anthony Donofrio for 58 years; the sister of Paul Danelutti from Naples Florida and the cherished mother of three daughters: Diana Lynch (Bill), Theresa Harris (Leon) and Donna Gillan (Bob). The proud grandmother of seven: Anthony Fiume, Rachel Gillan, Robert Gillan, Christina Lynch, Angela Harris, Billy Lynch and Tara Lynch. The light of her life was her great grandson, Garrett Gillan. Carmel dedicated her life to her family; she will truly be missed. Carmel was born and raised in South Philadelphia where she made lifelong friends. She raised her family in Maple Shade where she enjoyed her “little job” as a teacher’s aide at Steinhauer School retiring after 20 years of service. For fun, Carmel enjoyed painting, bowling with her husband, spending time with her family and taking rides to and enjoying the casinos in Atlantic City. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, August 24 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main St. Maple Shade. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Carmel’s memory to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at PanCan.org Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting marktilghmanfuneralhome.com
